The right spraying technique plays a major role in weed control. Globus develops and supplies spray hoods for both conventional spraying and Low Volume Spreading (LvS). Depending on the crop, the field conditions and the required precision, you can choose between open, closed or flexible versions in various sizes.
The spray hoods are available in stainless steel, in sizes from 20 to 120 cm wide, and can be combined with different nozzles and spray systems. They can be used on virtually all Globus spray frames, row sprayers and hoeing machines.
Conventional spraying with spray hoods
The conventional spray hoods from Globus are made of funnel-shaped stainless steel that moves along on contact with the crop, to minimize resistance. They are available in an open, closed or flexible version, depending on the required drift reduction and field conditions.

Low Volume Spreading (LvS) with protective hood
Low Volume Spreading (LvS) works with low pressure and uniform droplets for targeted, low-drift application. The system uses less liquid (10-50 L/ha), which makes it more efficient and more environmentally friendly. With or without a stainless steel Flex protective hood, you can work very precisely between rows and under crops.
The stainless steel Flex hoods often act as “branch lifters” in low crops or young trees. In combination with the NK80LT spreading head, you can also work without a hood, so you can spread very precisely low under plants or trees, without overlap or missed areas.
